It Started with a Recurring Moment of Madness.
What looked like just a chaotic pickup line revealed a systemic failure. Every day, the journey to and from school wastes millions of parent hours, creates chronic stress for families, and exposes dangerous safety gaps. In a world of ongoing threats, not knowing when and where children are is no longer acceptable. This is not just a logistical problem; it's a public health burden of parental anxiety and a critical equity issue, as the risks disproportionately fall on students in underserved communities who walk or use public transit.
A System in Sync: A View for Everyone
Dismisly works like modern infrastructure that connects parents, staff, and students in real time. No shouting, no confusion, no blind spots.
The Parent
Before: Anxiety about readiness, line position, and the unmonitored journey home.
With Dismisly: Peace of mind. From the moment they leave for school until they are safely home, you receive real-time confirmations for every transition. You know when your child boarded the bus, when they arrived at school, and if something did not go as planned.
The Staff
Before: Chaos with car lines, buses, and last minute changes using paper lists and walkie-talkies.
With Dismisly: Calm control. A single, real-time dashboard shows who is here, who has boarded, and who still needs to be accounted for. You are proactive, not reactive, and can manage the flow, not the chaos.
The Student
Before: Confusion in crowded halls and missed announcements.
With Dismisly: Simple clarity. Clear instructions on a central screen tell you where to go. You move confidently, safely, and on time through every part of your day.

A Note from Our Founder
Melissa Gomez
My mission to create Dismisly began with a recurring moment of madness: waiting in a disorganized school pickup line, knowing that the inefficiency was not just frustrating, but unsafe. That personal frustration sparked a journey of discovery. What looked like just a dismissal problem revealed a systemic failure. I saw a landscape of fragmented apps that failed to gain national adoption because they did not address the full, complex reality of how students move through their day.
This investigation transformed my project into a mission. As a parent, I saw the massive, unaddressed safety gaps. As a systems strategist who has spent two decades translating chaos into coordination for government and philanthropic clients, I saw the operational inefficiencies. And as a former first-generation student in NYC who navigated the city alone, I understood the vulnerability of those unmonitored journeys intimately.
Dismisly was born from that collision of experience and care. What began as a solution for dismissal has expanded into a vision to modernize every system that moves children between home, school, and beyond. My background in Information Technology provided the foundation to architect the solution, and my professional experience managing complex, equity-focused initiatives has prepared me to execute the plan.
This is a journey of discovery into a rigorously tested, evidence-based platform that can deliver on a simple, powerful promise: Know Where. Know When. No Stress.
